The Ronald Knox Bible is available to read, for free, online here: http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/Knox-Bible/
I’ve always been intrigued by it, it is quintessentially English and Catholic. Translated by one person rather than by committee. It is readable without being crass and banal. It keeps the thees and thous which help, especially when talking about God, to create the notion that God is not something we should talk about with disinterest or vulgarity.
I’m starting at Genesis and I’ll tell you how I get on, but right now I’m liking it 🙂
